Obesity is an accumulation of an excessive amount of fat in the body that increases many health problems. The normal weight of a person is calculated by using body mass index (BMI). the normal BMI of a person is around 18.5 to 24.9. obesity is due to unhealthy food habits, insufficient physical activity etc…if BMI is higher than 25 then the person is considered obese. Due to obesity people suffer from diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and many other lifestyle disorders also. Many are suffering from excessive weight.
CARDIOVASCULAR DISORDERS
Cardiovascular disorders are a group of diseases of the heart and blood vessels. CVS is the leading cause of death around the world. heart attacks and stroke are usually common diseases of the heart and mainly it is caused by a blockage of blood pumping from the heart to the brain. the most common reason is fatty deposits in the inner walls of the blood vessels that supply the heart to the brain.
HYPERTENSION
Hypertension is the force of the blood against the artery walls that are too high. usually, hypertension is considered blood pressure above 140/90 .it can happen because of an unhealthy lifestyle and lack of physical activity. certain health conditions such as diabetes and obesity can also increase the risk of developing high blood pressure.
TYPE 2 DIABETES
It is the most common type of diabetes. it is the condition that occurs when your glucose level is too high. blood glucose is the main source of energy which comes from the food we eat especially from carbohydrates. in type 2 diabetes the pancreas doesn’t make enough insulin or doesn’t use insulin properly. Because of that too much glucose stay in the blood and does not reach the cells. generally, type 2 diabetes occurs in middle-aged and older people also those who are overweight and obese and have a family history of diabetes .physical inactivity and certain health problems affect the chances of developing type 2 diabetes.

- Do regular exercise like walking, jogging, yoga, dancing, swimming, aerobics and cycling etc.
- Use staircase instead of lift or escalator.
- Take a balanced diet at proper meal times. A balanced should include food which is rich in nutrients like enough carbohydrates, fibre, protein, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals
- Don’t overeat. avoid processed and packaged foods that are rich in sugar, fats, salt and calories and low in fibre, good quality protein, minerals (iron and calcium) and vitamins.
- Eat whole grains like cereals (wheat, whole wheat flour) and millets and avoid refined foods like maida.
- Eat 400 – 500 gms of seasonal fruits and vegetables in a day.
- drink plenty of water.
- practice yoga or meditation to avoid stress in life.
- keep away from smoking and drinking alcohol.
- Spend less time sitting and watching television and pursue outdoor games and activities like gardening, playing a sport like a football, cricket and badminton.
