Ayurvedic Massage and Panchakarma Therapy

This one-month course will help you to learn basic principles of Ayurvedic treatments, Ayurvedic massages and Panchakarma Therapy. This short-term course covers a variety of subjects in Ayurveda and is suited for the beginners develop a basic knowledge about Ayurvedic treatments. This course will also provide sufficient practical experience in all types of Ayurvedic massages and Panchakarma therapy procedures. This course will also help students to learn Kalari Marma Massage, which is a speciality of Northern Kerala.

1. History of Ayurveda.

2. Fundamental principles of Ayurveda - Basic principles like Tridosha concept, Pancha Maha Bhuta concept, concept of Agni, Dhatus, Malas, Srotas, Koshta, Prakruti(Body constitution)…etc.

3. Basic principles of Panchakarma - Detailed description about Panchakarma Treatments - indication, procedure, application according to the nature of the diseases.

4. Philosophical theories of Ayurveda.

5. Concept of Body, Mind And Soul.

6. Marma - The vital body points on the body and its importance.

7. Ayurvedic Massages - indications, procedures and preparations of Ayurvedic Massages like - Elakizhi (bolus bag massage with medicinal leaves), Navara kizhi (bolus bag massage with Navara rice), Abhyanga (Oil massage), Pizhichil (Oil bath), Podikizhi (bolus bag massage with medicinal powders), Udhwarthana (Powder massage with medicinal powders), Shiro Dhara, etc.

8. Specialised local treatments like - Kadivasti (For back pain), Netra Tarpana, (For improving the health of eyes), Gulfa vasti (Local treatment for Knee joint pain), Greeva vasti (Local treatment for neck pain), Krana poorana (Local treatment for ear diseases), Shiro vasti (Oleation of head) etc.

Distant Learning Program in Ayurveda (6 Months)

This unique distant learning program in Ayurvedic massage and Panchakarma therapy will help you to learn ayurveda through e-mail . Students who join this course will get their lessons in ayurveda through e-mail / Post depending on their choice . This course is of six months duration and is divided in to six modules . Each module is sub divided into two sectons and the students will get each sections in two week intervals . At the end of each month students will also get a set of questions to work out . After finishing the course students will have to submit a paper on any of the subject of ayurveda .

This unique distant learning program also incorporates virtual classroom for the students through the internet. Utilizing this student can talk to their teachers through video conferencing for cleaning their doubts regarding the subject . This course is designed in such a way to give a through knowledge about ayurveda in about six months. After completing the course the students can under go ten days in house training at our hospital in different types of ayurvedic massage. There will be a dedicated ayurvedic doctor to clear the doubts of the students through e-mail.

Ayurvedic Therapeutics & Herbology (1 Month)

This one-month certificate course will cover a variety of portions on basic principles of Ayurveda, Identification and detailed study of medicinal herbs and principles of Ayurvedic therapeutics. This is an advanced course and is meant for those students who are having a basic knowledge about the basic principles. After completing this course student will be able to identify individual drugs and can make different Ayurvedic preparations like Kashayas (Decoctions), Churnas (Powders), Lehyas (semisolid preparations), Gudikas (Tablets), etc. The practical sessions will include a wide range of activities like, Preparation of Ayurvedic medicines, Identification and collection of medicinal plants, Preparation of herbarium sheets, etc

Panchakarma Therapy and Kerala Massage

This short-term course will help you to perform all panchakarma therapy procedures properly. They will also get sufficient practical training in some of the kerala speciality massages like Elakizhi (bolus bag massage with medicinal leaves), Navara kizhi (bolus bag massage with medicated Navara rice), Abhyanga (Oil massage), Pizhichil (Oil bath), Podikizhi (bolus bag massage with medicinal powders), Udhwarthana (Powder massage with medicinal powders), Shiro Dhara, etc.
